The Lord’s Judgment of David’s Sin

10 ^lBut David’s heart ^mstruck him after he had numbered the people. And David said to the Lord, ⁿ“I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, O Lord, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”

8 And David said to God, ^p“I have sinned greatly in that I have done this thing. But now, please take away the iniquity of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.”

9 For the ^geyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless¹ toward him. You have ^hdone foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars.”
