For cthere is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man1 Christ Jesus, dwho gave himself as a ransom for all, which is ethe testimony given fat the proper time.

10 And by that will ewe have been sanctified through the offering of fthe body of Jesus Christ gonce for all.

28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but kto serve, and lto give his life as a ransom for mmany.

The Seventy Weeks

24 iSeventy weeks1 are decreed about your people and jyour holy city, to finish kthe transgression, to put an end to sin, land to atone for iniquity, mto bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and nto anoint a most holy place.2

26 And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall ube cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come vshall destroy the city and the sanctuary. wIts1 end shall come with a flood, xand to the end there shall be war. yDesolations are decreed.

mSurely he has borne our griefs

and carried our sorrows;

yet we esteemed him stricken,

nsmitten by God, and afflicted.

oBut he was pierced for our transgressions;

he was crushed for our iniquities;

upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,

pand with his wounds we are healed.

qAll we like sheep have gone astray;

we have turnedevery oneto his own way;

rand the Lord has laid on him

the iniquity of us all.

10  Yet yit was the will of the Lord to crush him;

he has put him to grief;1

zwhen his soul makes2 an offering for guilt,

he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;

athe will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

11  Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see3 and be satisfied;

by his knowledge shall bthe righteous one, my servant,

cmake many to be accounted righteous,

dand he shall bear their iniquities.

12  eTherefore I will divide him a portion with the many,4

fand he shall divide the spoil with the strong,5

because he poured out his soul to death

and was numbered with the transgressors;

gyet he bore the sin of many,

and makes intercession for the transgressors.

22 This makes Jesus the guarantor of ia better covenant.

32 qHe who did not spare his own Son but rgave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

18 knowing that you rwere ransomed from sthe futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but twith the precious blood of Christ, like that of ua lamb vwithout blemish or spot.
