19 Now there was no blacksmith to be found throughout all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, “Lest the Hebrews make themselves swords or spears.”

22 So on the day of the battle there was ^lneither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people with Saul and Jonathan, but Saul and Jonathan his son had them.

45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, ^sbut I come to you ^tin the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord ^vsaves not with sword and spear. For ^wthe battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.”
