Proclaiming Christ Crucified

1 And I, when I came to you, brothers,^{1 x}did not come proclaiming to you ^ythe testimony² of God with lofty speech or wisdom.

4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of ^cthe Spirit and of power,

13 And we impart this ^tin words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, ^uinterpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.¹

10 For they say, “His letters are weighty and strong, but ^zhis bodily presence is weak, and ^ahis speech of no account.”

6 ^xEven if I am unskilled in speaking, ^yI am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way ^zwe have made this plain to you in all things.

Christ’s Glory and the Prophetic Word

16 For we did not follow ^zcleverly devised ^amyths when we made known to you ^bthe power and ^ccoming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but ^dwe were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
