David Organizes the Musicians

1 David and the chiefs of the service also set apart for the service the sons of ^qAsaph, and of ^rHeman, and of ^sJeduthun, who ^tprophesied with ^ulyres, with harps, and with cymbals. The list of those who did the work and of their duties was:

6 They were all under the direction of their father in the music in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the order of the king.

12 and all the Levitical ^msingers, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, their sons and kinsmen, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, stood east of the altar with 120 priests who were trumpeters;

25 And he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, ^maccording to the commandment of David and of ⁿGad the king’s seer and of ^oNathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets.

Dedication of the Wall

27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with singing, ^uwith cymbals, harps, and lyres.
