20 If anyone says, ^k“I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a ^lliar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot¹ love God whom he has not seen.

14 We know that we have ^zpassed out of death into life, ^abecause we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. 15 ^bEveryone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

3 For ⁱwe ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, ^jslaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.
