Christ Our Advocate

1 My little children, ^sI am writing these things to you ^tso that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an ^uadvocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the ^vpropitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 ^zIn this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the ^apropitiation for our sins.
