Christ the Wisdom and Power of God
18 For the word of the cross is cfolly dto those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the epower of God. 19 For it is written,
f“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will gthwart.”
20 hWhere is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? iHas not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach1 to save those who believe.
16 For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. eFor necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! 17 For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward, but if not of my own will, I am still fentrusted with a gstewardship.
