Updated ESV Widget for OS X
We have updated the ESV widget for the OS X Dashboard to direct to the new ESV Online. This widget, once installed, will allow you to search by verse, keyword, or phrase from your dashboard, directing you to the ESV text within the ESV Online. This widget works even if you aren’t registered with an account. You just won’t have access to the additional ESV Online features.
If you have the older version of the ESV widget, simply download and replace with this new version.

I continue to love reading the ESV, in any form. I own print editions of the text and the ESV Study Bible; I use the iPhone and iPad apps regularly; listen to the Daily Reading bible online and make regular use of the ESV Study Bible Online (old site and new) I bless G-d for your commitment to bringing His word to the world AND for taking the risks and expense to offer so many wonderful digital options. Thank you.
P.S. Really looking forward to an iPad friendly esvonline!

My personal preference is the NKJV, but I like the ESV as well. Hebrew and Greek often have “picture words” that are difficult to translate without a descriptive chain of thought. Greek, particulary, is a very precise language with multiple tenses. Often we will translate several different words into one common English word and sometimes the original meaning is lost. We have to be very careful, though, that we let God speak for Himself and avoid injecting our own opinion and speaking for Him.
